Shree Nithyananda Yogashrama, Kondevoor Mutt, observed Kargil Vijay Diwas with great patriotism and solemn reverence on Sunday, July 26, 2025, at Shree Gayathri Mantapa. The event marked the 26th anniversary of India’s resounding victory in the 1999 Kargil War and honored the extraordinary valor and sacrifice of the nation’s armed forces.


The programme commenced with the lighting of the Amar Jawan Jyoti, followed by a heartfelt offering of floral tributes led by Paramapoojya Sri Sri Yogananda Saraswati Swamiji, together with other esteemed guests and dignitaries. This collective gesture paid homage to the memory and heroism of India’s brave martyrs. The audience was enthralled by a spirited patriotic dance performance, presented by the talented students of Sadguru Sri Nityananda Vidyapeetha, which set an inspiring and emotional tone for the day’s proceedings.


The formal stage programme featured an Aashirvachana (benedictory address) delivered by Swamiji, followed by addresses from distinguished guests including Sri Sashidhar Shetty Baroda (President) and Sri Ajith Hanumakkanavar (Keynote Speaker). Havaldar Jony Mathew was specially recognized for his exemplary service during the Kargil conflict. In a proud and emotional gesture, former army veterans were also felicitated during the event, in gratitude for their remarkable service and dedication to the nation. The chief guests—Brigadier I.N. Rai, Commander K. Vijayakumar, Capt. Ganesh Karnik, and Sri Sukesh Hegde—shared their invaluable experiences, underscoring the unwavering spirit and enduring legacy of the Indian Armed Forces.


A particularly moving segment of the day was the felicitation of parents whose children were recently selected for the Army through the Mutt’s military training camp, reaffirming the Ashrama’s commitment to empowering youth in the service of the nation.

The gathering, which included devotees, veterans, students, and community leaders, expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices of soldiers and their families.
