Free Eye Test and Ayurveda Treatment Camp at Kubanoor


Kubanoor, 17 August 2025 (Sunday):

Sri Rama Yuvaka Mandali (Regd.), Kubanoor, and Jagadguru Sri Nithyananda Mahapeetam Charitable Trust (Regd.), Kondevoor, in collaboration with The OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation, Bengaluru, Prasad Netralaya Super Speciality Hospital, Mangaluru, and Dr. Dayananda Pai and P. Satish Pai Charitable Trust (Regd.), organized a Free Eye Test Camp on 17th August 2025 at Sri Rama A. U. P. School, Kubanoor.

Alongside this initiative, with the support of Sri Sharada Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Talapady, Mangaluru, a Free Ayurveda Treatment Camp was also conducted, providing holistic healthcare facilities to the local community.

Inaugural Programme

The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Krishna Prasad Koodlu, Medical Director, Prasad Netralaya, Mangaluru.
Sri Ramesh Acharya, President of Sri Rama Yuvaka Kala Mandala, presided over the programme.

The event was graced by distinguished Chief Guests:

  • Dr. Gopinathan, Medical Officer (Eye & ENT Specialist), District Ayurveda Hospital, Kannur

  • Smt. Meera Alva, Headmistress, Sri Rama A. U. P. School, Kubanoor

Camp Highlights & Beneficiaries

 
The one-day camp witnessed a large turnout of villagers who availed themselves of free medical services. The statistics of beneficiaries are as follows:

  • Total Patients Benefitted: 226

  • Ayurveda Treatments Provided: 100

  • Spectacles Distributed Free of Cost: 128

  • Cataract Cases Identified for Further Care: 25

Impact

This joint effort successfully brought specialized healthcare facilities — both modern ophthalmology and traditional Ayurveda — closer to rural communities, ensuring early detection of ailments and timely medical support. The distribution of free spectacles and identification of cataract cases will significantly improve the quality of life of many villagers.

The organizers expressed gratitude to all collaborating institutions, doctors, volunteers, and donors who made the camp possible. The event stands as a testament to the vision of Jagadguru Sri Nithyananda Mahapeetam Charitable Trust in serving society through accessible healthcare and humanitarian initiatives.
